Ian, Smashing photo of this Home Office Emergency Pump in I.C.I. Coventry yellow smart! you may recall during 1969 the Chief Fire Officer of the former West Riding County Council Fire Brigade commissioned I, believe six GG pumps for colour experimentation one which was done in Coventry Yellow with the rear of the appliance being done with chevrons they also did one in the darker shade of yellow (similiar to B.Ts old colour) the other most striking colour was the brillant white wow! did that stand out, but for what its worth I still believe the Coventry Yellow to be the most effective a trader was selling a photo of the white Goddess recently on E-Bay bidding concluded at fourteen pounds!

Red, yellow or white - they all look a lot better than the original murky green...

As they are fire pumps, after all, they do look best in good old red, though!
