Yes it is an australian body normally these are designed using CAD and 3 different Australian body builders build the bodies.

The design of this Scania fire engine is quite impressive, with its sleek lines and robust build. The FirePac bodywork complements the Scania chassis well, making it a formidable firefighting vehicle.

Yes, a photo which illustrates a comparison between a defunct local custom fire appliance - which could not be built in sufficient numbers to be economically viable for the manufacturer - and a locally bodied high quality commercial chassis. It echoes the demise of Dennis in the UK, for the same reasons. In addition it also reinforces the success of Scania as a base for fire appliances of many kinds in numerous countries all over the World, not least in Germany - the home of MAN, Mercedes and Iveco. The only part of the fire appliance construction industry which remains the realm of custom manufacturers seems now to be airfield crash trucks.

In the US of course, there are still numerous custom fire truck builders, but it should be noted that this is a huge and very diverse market - and of course all of the builders use either Caterpillar or Cummins engines, Allison transmissions and one of three pump manufacturers, as well as a standard cab in almost every case.
