This is a standard German NATO military chassis, also built in 6X6 and 4X4 versions.
Some German factory and municipal fire services have also deployed these, although I believe many are chassis which had already completed their military service first. Dusseldorf used to have two to cover the huge rail freight yards in that city, as they could travel along and across the rail tracks without shaking themselves (and their crews) to pieces!
