Tynemouth Fire Brigade Dennis F12

This Dennis F12 Pump Escape FT 7215 was operated by Tynemouth Fire Brigade and restored by staff on the station. The 'levers' on the rear of the escape ladder are in the 'folded' position to allow the appliance to be garaged more easily.

Of course I was the one who stirred things up after this one was restored by telling them they'd put the brigade crest in the wrong place ! The Pump had its there, but that on the PE was between the two side windows !! (I realy should get a life )

In later years you are perfectly right but when delivered the crest was indeed on the locker.

I never knew that Ron - when the likes of you and I were seeing the thing all the time of course it was where I said.

Don't worry mate, I thought the same, until the photo of it when original turned up. It was still odd how the other F12 kept the livery but the PE did not. Guess they ran out of cash for a sign writer.

Can anyone let me know where F12 reg number HMR 765 was stationed? I was given an oldish photo of it today, but can't upload it as I had to scan the photo and this site only accept jpeg.It would be good to put some history to the photo.

HMR 765 was the Wiltshire machine that was stationed ar Salisbury. Ir was long a PE of course, but was later converted into a PL.

HMR 765 was at Salisbury in Wiltshire and has been preserved.

The all-red painted F12 must be THE classic of all classic British fire appliances. Nothing else in the World looked anything like it and none looked better!

This example is almost perfect. Get rid of the added-on blue beacon, and it would be completely original...
