Taken 02.05.90. 9 pump fire on the Malvern Hills Worc. This appliance was quite new when the pic was taken, at the bottom of St.Annes road Malvern, as Base pump, supplying water via a 2 pump relay to the Malvern WrL,(411)Reg. G788 FWP at 'HOT-END'.

Hi Andy, any idea when H&W started using the yellow stripes on appliances or the reasons why?

Added by Lee on 17 April 2011.
The reasoning behind why, is so the fire-fighters themselves can SEE the appliance as they keep having to make regular trips to/from it in the dark and at times of limited visibility.
