I visited this massive fire station about 20 years ago......what you cannot see is several more bays in the road to the right round the corner.....two machines being parked at right angles to each other. There was also two or three other appliances parked in a detached garage opposite the station, At the time of my visit there was only three paid staff....the chief and his deputy and the brigade mechanic who was also an operational firefighter.
A very impressive setup and our contingent of FBS members were made very welcome

They´ve got actually 5 tankers (2 of them are equipet with 750 kg dry chemical), 4 ladder trucks, 6 engines, 3 HazMat trucks, 1 water rescue unit(with diving equipment), 1 rescue truck, 2 utility vehicles, 1 hose carrier, 1 forklift, 3 command units, a trailer and 2 boats

Why would such a place need so many fire appliances? Six engines, five tankers, four laddder trucks, three hazmats, two boats and a partridge in a pear tree!

All this vehicles are distributed on 3 fire stations, but they´re all staffed by volunteer from the main fire station(on the pic) for a faster ariving at the accident. So therer is 1 ladder at every station(in the one at the picture is a small one placed too, that´s used in small streets downtown) and one engine and tanker in each of the 2 small stations. Also there is to say, that Celle is the county capital(there are placed the conty and federal owned disaster protection untis) with about 70000 residents. It´s placed in the middle of the "Lunenburg Heath" and there are a lot of brush fires every year(they need the tankers and the hose carrier for that), also there is a river called "Aller" in there district(boats and divers).
