Fyi - penang is in malaysia. I note that the vehicle has the malaysian frd decal. Thus is it operated by them or by port workers?

Penang or Pulau Pinang in Malay is an island in Malaysia. This unit is operated by the port FD.

Where exactly on Penang? Is it on the mainland (Butterworth) or the island?

It is an island which is connected by a bridge namely the Pulau Pinang Bridge. If i not mistaken Butterworth is located at Pulau Pinang.

Actually I was referring to the mainland of Penang State (was known as Wellesley Province)
I found out that there are 4 terminals; 1 on the island "Swettenham Pier" and the other 3 on the mainland: North Butterworth Container Terminal (NBCT), Butterworth Deep Waters Wharves (BDWW) & Prai Bulk Cargo Terminal (PBCT)
