Do you happen to know the HCB-Angus builders number please? It's either inside the crew left door on on the left side of the rear of the vehicle.

Thanks Justin, so now I know that the numberplate was 01 AG 32. I also have it as used by the RAF in or from September 1970

As far as I am aware ARE967J was never issued with a military reg, she was part of a order for 3 placed by the MOD AIR for ROF Facilities, this information came to light when I, as the previous owner was looking into the history of the appliance.

The reg as Gordon said was ARE967J, my 2b was indeed from a batch of 3, mine was added on to the contract 12 october 1970, contract number was A/CTS/WV?8851/DC53(1) it was the same spec as contract 8851, but with a number amendments and fittings.

Concur info from Gordon & Justin re ARE 967J, the other 2 were ELA 424J & 425J. These 3 are on a purpose built 110" chassis and are identical in almost every respect to those built for the Army & RAF fire services.
Turning to 01 AG 32, this was a different type of appliance , it was a 1965 one off contract built for the RAF on a converted 109" chassis. Its chassis number was 28600351, its HCB No was 0484/1049. It served at RAF Fylingdales. In 1967 another one off contract was placed again on a converted 109" chassis registered 27 AG 24 it was in service with No 1 ACC at RAF Wattisham from 1967- it is currently in the hands of Steve Shirley at Manston. Its HCB No was 0723/1521.. these two 109" FC vehicles have a different body style to the purpose built 110" examples.
