A very nice retro photo of Cleveland County's Dennis WPY 480Y, at the time of photo it was based at Hartlepool Stranton, it looks like it was on Standby at Billingham Station when this was taken. It spent 7 years at Stranton (83-90) and was disposed of in 1998. I Imagine this was taken in the late 80s since there appears to be one of the legendary cork style helmets in the back!

noticed the Cork helmet myself.... great looking helmet, I think I have 2 of them kocking about my shed...

They are nice to have, I have managed to get my hands on 2 Cleveland Cork helmets, 1 is with the very old style badge like in the 70's and the other is a Sub Officer one with the Cleveland County badge with the red background, very nice!
