Thanks for sharing this nice picture. I hope the old girl is still looked after well. Does anyone know where she is now?

I wonder if they ever used the suction hose in conjunction with the turntable ladder. Northampton does have a river, but it would be quite a trick to get this machine positioned so that it could use the open water and the monitor at the same time.

Don't know about the suction hose Rob - but if you look carefully there is what might look like a 'dog basket' on the deck near the suction - I think ? this is a suction basket for an extra heavy unit it is larger than anything I have seen before - in answer to Richard Astons question - as far as I am aware the TL is still in existance and 'looked after' !

Also take a look at(picture 17481)of this 1938 Leyland TLM2/Metz 104ft/500gpmP Turntable Ladder.
I think it would have been very unlikely just the pump lifting from open water could have supplied enough water to get a good jet at the monitor when ladder was fully extended on this appliance.
Thanks for sharing this picture with Rick, its real nice.

i'm led to believe it was originally ordered as a four section 101' ladder - but it was then realised it wouldn't fit in the appliance room so the order was changed to a five section 104' ladder which perversley whilst the housed length is shorter the extended length is longer!

Does anyone know where I may be able to get a pair of ladder pawls for one of these?
