A design originally developed in response to a request for a low profile TL from Munich. Quite a few were sold in Germany, but not many were exported. Only a handful went to the UK, France and the Benelux.
For some reason, this version was rejected by Berlin, who bought their Iveco-Magirus DLK23-12s on an IVECO chassis with a much modified Club of Four cab.
The replacement Magirus is much less odd-looking, and it seems they are being exported more widely.
