Do the Finnish fire appliances fleet mainly consist of water tankers?

Bomba, I have asked simular question on previous photo submitted by Arto? Perhaps it is because water supply is frozen in winter months?

Yep, maybe you are right pavel. Possibly the water tanker may on active duty during winter or the tanker have froze resistant tanker.

I think that in Finland we more tankers than elsewhere. Our capital Helsinki have also 3 tankers although there is hydrants almost everywhere. But I asked it in spring and they answer that it easier to connect hose from tanker to pumper than look where is nearest hydrant. Of course they use hydrant when they get more units on accident place.

Finnish specility is peat deposits. Part of countryside fire departments summer alarms are there. In 2006 was big peatfire in my munipality and its needs 16 tanker to extinguish fire in two days.
