northamptonshire re-bodied

Originally delivered to northamptonshire in 1992 with a hose layer body ( see image 3052 by clive beasley ) it was re-bodied as a prime mover in 2010 and is seen outside the service workshops with the welfare unit pod mounted .
The welfare unit contains toilets , showers , cooking facilities etc , and is used when crews are required to remain at the scene of a fire for long periods of time .

Hi, nice too see, but having to replace it in to a pm from a hose unit from 1992, must have been cost cuts. Could of just got the MAN pm, and kept the hose layer.

The Hose Layer was superseded by the High Volume Pumps so was no longer required. It was useful to have a second Prime Mover especially as it was 4x4 drive
