This is ex MOD/RAF/RN TACR I airfield crash rescue carries 3man crew 3rd man in recess in back of vehicle, contains 450ltrs of AFFF/lightwater.when first in service in the 70s has a 125 hathaway pump for firefighting purposes.

Reminds me of FDNY's Seagrave ladders in the seventies. the Union insisted on eight man ladder companies, but the standard cab could only accommodate seven. So they added a "telephone box" on the right side, just like this curious appendage on the Land-Rover - except theirs had a door and a window. I never found out if the lucky guy who rode there had his own heater, but somehow I doubt it!
