Make withdrawn TL`s 3 ! D240ELJ
3 withdrawn Metz TL`s at Lothian and Borders FRS workshops. D240 ELJ Volvo/Metz bought from Dorset and used as a spare height appliance that served at all 4 height appliance stations in the city. G429 KBO Scania/Metz TL bought from North Yorks. which was used as a source of spare parts and never used operationally. F986 NRV Volvo/Metz TL bought from Hampshire in late 2002 and spent it`s tiem on the run at Tollcross in the city centre before being replaced in August 2010 by yet another second hand TL, this time E750 MDE a Scania 92/ Metz TL bought from Mid and West wales. F986 NRV has appeared for sale on the internet and externally still looks in good condition.

Nice picture, has L&B invested in a new aerial then, as I suspect the Multistar is still gathering dust!

Both multistars have been withdrawn and will not be used according the the CFO as there are safety issues with them. L&B currently have no spare height appliance, - a situation that has not happened for a long time. They currently run two second hand TL`s at Tollcross and Sighthill, the S reg at Crewe Toll which they bought new and the 03 reg HP at McDonald Road.

Do we know if the Magirus Multistars are back in business? Did anyone reveal what the "safety issues" were? Although Multistars are not the most common aerial trucks, there are quite a few in service now around the World.
