1971 Ford R192 'bus' pumper QFS fleet 503
Originally new to the South Coast Fire Brigade and based on Coochiemudlo Island. It was used by the Wasp Creek Rural Fire Brigade after it ended service there (and repainted yellow) until it ended up as first response vehicle at a large marina on the Gold Coast, south of Brisbane. The appliance was designed by the State Fire Service Council and was the first purpose built in Queensland, and the precursor of the FIrepac design used later. Built by Athol Hedges, it has a Godiva 750 GPM pump and was also foam equipped.
