Ex East Sussex pump first issued to the Ridge, Hastings and then Broad Oak where it had its rear blue beacon removed and 2 square repeaters placed onto the rear, This was done to allow it to fit into the old cramped station.
It became a spare and when in the workshop at Hastings it caught fire and the pump was removed.Its last roll in ESFRS was as a driver training pump.

Thanks for the info Shaun, I gathered it had been on fire as the pump bay was charred but was unaware where it was based.when I bought it in 2007 it was a wreck, all the lockers and roof had been removed along with the tank and some of the mounting brackets had been cut off.it has since been space framed and fully converted at a cost of more than ten thousand pounds.runs great and is very reliable!

Glad to help.There were 9 of these HCB-Angus pumps issued in 1990 and the last one came out of service in 2007 this being a LIFE pump. When G124 caught fire it was in the workshops at Hastings.At lunch time a station officer waked in casually and said to the mechanics "that there was smoke coming from the workshops" he was told to "eff orf" buy the mechanics but a watch member then went out back and found thick black smoke issuing from the workshop, such is life, only a 2 pump 4 BA 2 HRJ call in the end.
Good pumps very well built but had large steering wheels! compared to all batches after that.There must be a few of these around if anybody would shed some light.

G121, G125, G126, G127, G127, G128 and G129 have all been used in the limo industry, G128 was written off in an arson attack.
