This similar to the RAF fire Service bedford miles
1st in service 1955 the difference is the hose reel is at the rear of the RAF appliance. The location of this hose rel would have been the foam compound locker for us. this is a fantastic looking appliance.

Also of course, the RAF ones (of which there were 80) also had larger water tanks.
MUP 419 (to which Chris refers) was originally a Durham County appliance, and it - together with MUP 418 which used to be at Hebburn)- was converted from a WrT into a FoC by Durham workshops.

Thats correct Ian the water cap was 600gallons 2x 300gal interconnected tanks bril truck though.

And of course the RAF ones didn't have roller shutter doors they had up and over slab doors.

Again Ted thats correct I added a photo of the One MHVT recoverd this year when I was over it looks ok for 1 that sat in a field for 30odd years.

I only know of 2 RAF ones that have survived one in the UK and one in Malta
