H72HKC is a North Wales FRS spare appliance. Seen at the Firefighters Charity carwash in Chirk, North Wales,it was new to E2 Deeside, passing to W7 (then C13) Prestatyn where it displaced Dennis R series RJC918T. It was replaced by V36DRN Volvo FL6/Saxon Volumax. It was running as a spare at Chirk on 2/10/2010.

Is it a testament to the Volvo that an 'H' Reg machine is still a reserve or is North Wales really strapped for cash?

London still has a few N, P & R reg Volvo's on the run as reserves. It's not unusual to see one of the 1995 N-reg's steaming through central London on a shout. They've lasted well.
Reminds me of the situation at the start of the decade when we still had some of the E-reg Dodge Saxon's running as reserves but those were in an awful state save for a quick spray paint job on the cab.
