Lake Havasu City is a community built around a man made lake in the Arizona desert. The lake was dug out so that the London Bridge could be re-built to cross it.

Otherwise, its piece by piece relocation from the Thames to the desert would have made even less sense, if that's possible!

I retired 4 yrs. ago after a 38 yr. career with the Lake Havasu City FD. I drove this truck for several yrs. while a firefighter. I was fortunate enough to get to operate it at its first two commercial fires where we used the arterial pipe. I still do photography for the Dept. I am working on a project for the Chief to put photos in each station of previous vehicles with some history added. I am trying to figure out what year this truck was and the motor & transmission particulars. I came on in 1980 and of course it was already there. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

James. Thanks for your service. May I suggest you get in touch with the enthusiast group in LA at "crownfirecoach.org". They might well have some information which could be useful. Wikepedia has a very good overview article about Crown Firecoach, but nothing about this particular unit, although it list a bunch of sources you could take a look at. Good luck with your hunt!
