Any idea what these appliances are for, could one be a support vehicle for the epu maybe. But all services are getting an obsession with getting light fire appliances

The look like they will be used as TRVs based at Wholetime stations to be used for Car fires bin fire ect.

These appliances may be destined for volunteer fire units in rural areas, as they're about the right size for rural roads.

Interesting that the Merc has a West Country registration, and the Ranger an Oxford one. Any further information on these two JDC bodied appliances would be much appreciated.

The mercedes is going to be allocated to station P03 East Kilbride and is going to be the line rescue unit which crews are currently being trained up on

The Ranger is surprisingly old to be a 'new' vehicle, could be a SEV / Water Rescue, or if fitted with a fogging unit, a VSU

Apparently the Ranger will go to east Ayrshire area as a forest fire unit, possibly based at Cumnock retained.

i thought it might have went to Ayr because they don't have an independent vehicle to tow the forestry trailer any more, it is supposedly towed by a retained fire fighters car when called out

The Mercedes is supposedly going to be the vehicle for the new line rescue team and will be based at East Kilbride, the Ranger may be the new fogging unit, but the new line rescue team are supposed to be getting one too.

Ayr's Forestry Unit the equipment is now at Q03 Kilmarnock and will be deployed by their MIU when required. Ive heard that the brigade are investing in two Animal Rescue Units, the ranger could possibly be one of these ?
