Isuzu 1AGO 220 Mundaring VFB Western AustraliaIsuzu 4x2 HSR 01 Reg No 1AGO 220 of the Mundaring Volunteer Fire Brigade, Perth, Western Australia. This incredible Australian fire appliance is one of only eight ever built to service the immediate outlying Metropolitan area of Perth by volunteer fire fighters. It may not look as smart as some of the more recent vehicles we have seen from overseas, but this particular machine is a true Aussie work horse. The town of Mundaring is located in the hills area immediately east of the City of Perth on the Great Eastern Highway to Sydney. With the extremely heavy traffic volume this engine is the first responding fire and rescue vehicle to serious crashes. It has a full compliment of well used rescue tools and has a water capacity of 2000 litres. The machine has one hose reel mounted nearside rear upper deck. (The latest model of this appliance has two hose reels). HSR indicates vehicle spec's: Hazmat, structure, rescue and the 01 for the first in the series of 8. (See next photo for near side vehicle view). I think you'll agree this appliance for eight years is in fine condition considering it also attends bush fires, etc, thanks to the dedication of the Captain and members of the brigade.
