Fire Engines Photos

Posibly from the 1970's, this is an American Crown Firecoach 50'or 55'Telesqurt.Sold or maybe donated to this department but I'm unable to find any accurate information stating where this rig originally came from and what dept it once served in the USA.

Certainly is a Crown Pete. The nearest I can get her to is Santa Fe Springs. The lights look like they've been added later. Crown only manufactured 33 rigid Telesquirts and two articulated versions.

Thanks, PedroMC, for bringing us another Crown Firecoach...that unmistakeable tall, nearly flat cab-front betrays its bus origins....

The "painted-over" back-ground block cab-door lettering certainly indicates that it had originally carried another Fire Service's legend. And local finances could not have supported a brand-new custom aerial apparatus like this one.

For so many of us - THE Crown Firecoach was the Pumper 'Engine 51' in the 1972 Television Series "Emergency". 'Engine 51' was actually a real-life Los Angeles FD Pumper, stationed out at the film studios in California, USA.

This 1976 Crown Firecoach recently came to the Bomberos Santa Rosalia from Manhatten Beach, CA, and still has the E23 numbering it ran as with that department. I'll add something about it on www.crownfirecoach.org with then and now photos in the next few days.

The unit pictured was mfg Sept. 1979 and is currently in service in Santa Rosalia BCS Mexico. I am working with the department to repair some issues with the equipment but it is still in service. If any one has repair experience please email me at [email protected]
