This is a Dennis trailer pump that was used by States of Jersey Fire service in WWII see Picture 24660 for details of the Engine that pulled it photo july2010
Issued to the AFS in very large numbers, these Dennis "number two" trailer pumps were rated at 500 GPM at 100 PSI (2275 LPM at 7 AT).
Many were removed from their trailer and engine, and mounted on type A water tenders in the early 1950s, and the pump itself continued to be manufactured for many years and mounted on both Dennis and many other new fire engine chassis.
I am always interested when I see these trailer pumps referred to as Dennis No.2s as I believe them to be No.3s. My local fire brigade bought a Dennis No.3 Trailer Pump in 1939 and the model pictured here is basically what they got, albeit the earlier 'TA' version with the open hose boxes. I have a piece of Dennis literature from the time which illustrates their No.2 model and it is quite different from what is shown here and similar in appearance to the No.1 model. I may be wrong but I believe that because the No.3 TrP has a similar if not identical capacity to the No.2 pumps fitted in appliances, it gets labelled the same way.

Chris: My understanding is that the Dennis No:3 pump was the 900 gpm pump which was usually fitted to the F7, F12 and F24 series, often as a mid mount but also as a rear mount.
