Ford Transit/Saxon L2P Gwasanaeth Tân Gwynedd
The last of a long line for Gwynedd Fire Service as this appliance was the final Gwynedd appliance to go on the run. Registered on 16th Feb 1996 and photographed on St David's Day 1996, she was the last of three Ford Transit L2P's finished off at brigade workshops in Bangor and was fleet number 9522. The three Transits were replacements for the Moon Buggies at Amlwch, Llangefni and Dolgellau. N662ECC was allocated to Amlwch to replace PEY238S, N663ECC was allocated to Llangefni to replace PEY239S and this one, N664ECC was allocated to Dolgellau to replace OJC285S. The original idea was to get them on the run and the new North Wales fire service was to send them to County to be converted to 4x4, but that never materialised. Along with the Transits, three Mercedes-Benz 1124F/Saxon WrL's were allocated to Bangor, Llandudno and Caernarfon. Of these six machines, none of them had Gwynedd insignia or fleet numbering applied, the only ones not to have had. As time moves on, the Transits are about to be replaced themselves as six Bremachs are about to be delivered to the brigade.
