CROWN FIRECOACH 1968I thought Pete Maden would like to see this classic 1968 Crown 100foot 4-section Maxim Aerial, or Truck, that served Berkeley, California for many years. The truck was powered with a Cummins diesel and carried approximately 235 feet of various steel ladders but had no pump. There is a very active Crown Firecoach Enthusiasts, Owners, Club which parades their vehicles regularly here in California. Although Crown produced many firetrucks of every description, it's primary. business was buses, lots and lots of School buses, all yellow and could be found in school districts all over the western United States. A few private coaches plus a few very unusual "Brucks" (half bus and half truck) were also produced.

Now there's 4/5 pictures of Crown apparatus coming finally onto the site with maybe some more to follow, being such a recognized company in the manufacturing of fire apparatus from the United States in the past,Crown really should be added to the manufacturers list.(Please Marcel)
