Hi Andy, I don't have VFM 777 on my list but I do have VFM 77. Could it be the same machine? 'Fire Cover' from Summer 1987 says that it is a Fire service National Museum appliance being restored by Shropshire. I'm sorry don't know what has happened in the following 23 years.

Same vehicle Chris, thanks. Trying to remember copious amounts of registration plates without checking is a problem of mine. Thanks again
981 DMA was allocated to Runcorn fire station in 1961 replacing a wartime Bedford QL WrT GYR 738. 981 DMA ran alongside Commer QX/Jennings WrT NMB 630 untill 1973 when Dennis F49/Dennis WrL PMA209L arrived. Dennis F38/Dennis WrT TTU 63D replaced Commer QX/Jennings NMB 630.
