Fire Engines Photos

This wonderful old machine was driven by myself and others to fires and other incidents at the Triplex works at Kings Norton.
We were a volunteer fire brigade, on hearing the fire alarm we would muster at the station and collect this machine, a trailor pump and a hose laying cart, then attend the incident, all good fun.
At summer weekends we would attend works fire brigade competions around the Birmingham area during the 60's and early 70's, even more good fun.
Anybody out there with similar memories, or are we fading away just like works fire brigades have done.
Triplex brigade 1964-1972, then Land Rover fire brigade Solihull 1972-1983, many good and bad memories.

Two in cab. The appliance was driven to the incident by the nearest crew member to the engine house and the fire team on duty attended on foot from around the site.
