2009 Scania P270/JDC Water Tender Ladder.
Finally going on the run earlier this year with a slightly new livery was this Scania P270/JDC Water Tender Ladder of the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.This was one of the three new appliances delivered in 2009 sporting the new red roof instead of the traditional white which I think looks alot better.
This appliance has been allocated to the retained 2 pump station at Lancing and was positioned for this photo-shoot on the 19th May by Chris Pullar who I'd like to thank for his helpfulness during my visit.Thanks Chris.

You did well to get that Pete, it went off the run last night with a defect, they have now got R334SPO on the run. No new appliances are on order at the moment.

Bob,rumour has it,2 new MAN and 2 new Scania's are for this year.The MAN's(nothing confirmed) will maybe be going to one pump retained stations.I could also mension the stations mensioned,but nothings been yet confirmed.
Rumour also says that one or two,2 pump retained stations may be cut to one pump only.Also, another rumour has it that one retained station may even be closed because this financial year the brigade's got to cut-back £1.5 million I understand.

Thanks for that Stuart,nothing major I hope.Dennis R334SPO I don't have a picture of,beleave its Partridge Green's old Dennis Rapier so must try and get a picture.I'll give Chris a call.

Yea thats right Partridge Greens old machine. I have now got Petworths old DS D554 DOR.

She's all fixed now guys. Only the brakes that caught fire and packed up ha ha! The thermal image camera showed the brakes at 180 degrees C! Lovely machine to drive, just a bit slow off the mark.
