Search Engine produced only that Talkeetna is a "flag-stop" on the Alaska Railroad, between Anchorage and Fairbanks, eg the prospective passenger waves down the single-unit rail-coach, in order to board...winter-time, it is totally isolated, except by air-plane and snow-mobile...

Locals contend that Talkeetna was the model for the quirky town of Cicely, in TV series "Northern Exposure"(1990-1995) which was wisely, for cast & crew, filmed "Down South" in Roslyn, Washington state, south of Canada's British Columbia province.....

Can only think, that if this Fire Engine was originally supplied to Denmark's Greenland, in the Eastern Arctic; it still would have had a long sea-voyage in Atlantic Ocean, through Panama Canal, and northward in Pacific Ocean, to reach Alaska.... unless, of course, the ship traversed the legendary North West Passage, through Canada's Arctic...

Will be really interesting, if anyone can tell us, how this rig wound up here.

I don't know how the DK sticker came on the vehicle (proberly by traveling)But this is a former hoselayer from a Dutch fire brigade.
New in 1968 by Heerlen FB on a Mercedes-Benz LAF911/360 chassis build by Kronenburg. Orginal numberplate was ZV-12-32. No idea how it ended up in Alaska, maybe the owners of the Fairview Inn can highlight that mystery, couldn't find contact details on their website (only a phone number,but that's to much for me to call them up from Holland)
Hope this info gave some light on this unit.
