Joe U.; great shot of a local Volunteer Fire Department's ingenuity, with a low budget and locally available resources....
Today, NFPA (USA) and Health & Safety (UK) would "have a bird"; but, it worked back then.....
Let's see - a war-surplus US Army 4 x 4 chassis, the Locker Compartments from a junked Utility Truck, some steel piping on the cheap for the Hoseman's "Pulpit" up front; friendly local welding shop, or, welder-fireman; and "Hey Presto" a Brush-Fire Truck that can 'Pump & Roll' (Produce On The Move).
Perfect for chasing down Grass Fires out on The Great Western Plains of USA (State of Indiana).
