3 oldtimer Fords

That is a handsome Ford BB that is posted on the anniversary of this site. The fire department in the Netherlands has done a great job of maintaining this classic Ford which appears to have been completely rebuilt. There are many of these early Fords still used as parade pieces, etc. around the world. At a fire display several years ago I spotted this lineup from nearby rural fire departments--all predecessors to this Ford BB.
From the left is at 1926 Ford T, in the middle is a 1930 Ford A while on the right is a 1931 Ford AA; the single letter designation indicates a passenger car chassis, while the double letter for the heavy duty truck chassis. These all had the long lived Ford 4 cylinder engine, while the Ford BB was introduced in 1932 sporting a V8 engine(4 cylinder optional) and stayed in production through 1934 when it was replaced by a much more modern looking truck. This 85 hp V8 was used in all AFS and National Fire Service Ford Heavy Units, Escape Carrying Units, Hose Layers, Mobile Kitchens, etc.
