Frank, Singapore like Brunei appear to have always maintained the latest of fire fighting appliances in their fleet, do you have a comment as to why this is the case, is it something to do with their experience of the Second World War?

I think this photo had been published before.Brunei FRD is competitive with SCDF.BFRD always have the tendency to own the appliances like the SCDF for example recently the BFRD purchased the Delgro Red Rhino.During WW2 Brunei fire was unorganised and Brunei at that time Brunei was covered by the Brunei Shell FB.After 1960s the Brunei government fire start functioning and expanding until now.

Mark, there were at least 8 of these Dennis/Simon 50ft HP's in Ireland.Others
included chassis and body-3xERF/ERF's, 2xAEC-Mercury/Merryweather, 3xDodge 50ft
with HCB-Angus body, and 1xDodge with Merryweather body.
Between 1967-1989, Ireland had in the region of some 30+hydraulic platforms in
use, these ranged from 50ft-65ft-70ft-72ft and 3x85ft.Of the 17x50ft HP's that
were operating during the period, 8 were delivered from new, the others ex-UK.

Pete:

Do you happen to have any records of how many of these Irish PHPs were bought second hand from UK fire brigades?

I have heard lots of stories that many of them could not wait to sell them off quickly to Irish brigades...
