These two fine Sabres still look like they could be brand new - shame they are around 12 years old because it means we won't be able to see them anymore in a few years time. Very nice photo Graham.

Chris - I am sure your comment about twelve year service life is correct, but this is very low by any international standard I know of.
Most European and North American fire services seem to keep pumpers at busy stations for between fifteen and twenty years and at less busy volunteer stations for around twenty five to thirty.
In South America, it is not unusual to see pumpers in daily use which are forty years old and still fully serviceable.
