Bomberos Voluntarios de Glew - Argentina
This 1942 Dodge WC-63 entered service in 1972 for the Volunteer Firefighters of Glew as unit number 1, when this Department was founded. Possibly came to Argentina in the second half of the 40's along with plenty of second-hand equipment bought from the United States used during WWII. The original front mounted winch was not installed when the vehicle entered service for firefighters. The photograph was taken in 1996. As I know, at present, the vehicle is currently undergoing restoration.

Thanks again for a couple of ineresting "oldtimers" still running in your country today. This Dodge 6x6 has an interesting conversion and was used by all US forces in WW2 and beyond. I had one for our supply department on Guam in the Marianas and had an embarrassing moment in the Philippines when I couldn't get one moving while asked to take a chief warrant officer to another base---we were in six inches of mud, and the handbrake was stuck!
In your other photo you've shown an interesting Dodge civilian truck with the top of the cab cut off, and following it are what look like a convoy of Oldtimer fire trucks. Do you have rallies or "musters" for these trucks as do we in California (and throughout north America).

Thank you very much for your very precise information. I am very happy to share these photos with you and that, in turn, serve to remember those embarrassing moments.
Here in Argentina, parades or musters of fire trucks do not have an annual calendar. It is usually made when there is an anniversary of a fire department, especially the volunteers.

Dodge
From 'The Web': some 43,000 of these 1.5 ton 6x6 Dodge WC62/WC63 Weapons Carrier trucks were produced by Chrysler Corporation 1942-1945. They towed an Anti-Tank Gun; carrying the crew and ammunition as well; and had good cross-country capability. They had a Dodge T214 side-valve 230 cubic inch(3.769 litres) 6-cylinder gasoline(petrol) engine of 92 horse-power.
Countless 'war-movies' from Hollywood have shown these trucks; but I did not know what they were, until your photo.
