Grimsby ET arriving at a Chemical Spill

Taken in 2001. The ET was called to a chemical spill in the rear of a trailor at Hursts Transport in Stallingborough. My father in law had kust pulled in to the yard when the spill was discovered. The ET originally was based at Immingham, but moved to Grimsby when the two new stations were opened to replace the station in Pelham Road.

This ET was one of three in Humberside at Immingham (then Grimsby), North Hull and Scunthorpe (pic 22685) it was sold out of service to Bells and Two Tones on the south coast and used in BBC Tv's Casualty amongst other programmes - the North Hull appliance C870 ERH was sold on to Dublin Fire Brigade I believe, - and the Scunthorpe ET HKH 942Y went to a dealer in East Yorkshire

Rick, I saw the Clough Road ET at Dublin's workshops in 2003 tucked away behind the F17 TL reg 86-D-8578. Both ex Derbyshire Dennis SS135/Cottingham BB HRU/DCU appliances were on the run as ET's at Phibsborough and Dolphin's Barn
