Petros, this Bedford J4 series pump, started life in 1966 at Stn.6 Bromsgrove fire station, (then Worcester City & County F.B.) and served there until 1974, moving down the line on station.She then went to Station 29 Pebworth, (Hereford & Worcester FB after 1974 amalgamation) until 1976. I'm not sure why, but Worcester City & County were very keen on locker doors as opposed to roller shutters. We didn't get any pumps with roller shutters until after the amalgamation with Herefordshire in 74. The disadvantage of doors could be found on a windy day when you would walk around the appliance to find a Fireman hanging out of the locker unconscious after the door had been blown down on the back of his head! It certainly taught you to wear your helmet at ALL times!!
I seem to remember that Devon hung on to locker doors longer than most, having Dennis RS's with them?

The slam lockers may indeed have been old fashioned and more than a little dangerous, but they did look a lot nicer, for what that's worth....

Its good to see an HCB water tender of this vintage with four hinged cab doors, too, instead of the odd dual sliding door configuration which they shared with many of the older Merryweathers.
