Does anyone know of YKP's whereabouts these days? Thanks Mike

Sorry Mike I don't know her whereabouts these days. I just thought it might be of interest that I drove/operated her whilst at Brixton in the early 70's when 241 FLM was off the run. A beautiful set of mechanical ladders. 3 clutches, manual training and plumbing. Jimbo.

Nice one Jim - I have some pics of both on the run at Brixton... I'll post them up...

Mike the last I knew YKP is with Brian Waldron Transport of Bromsgrove - he has one or two Leyland Metz' as well -EDV 499 Torquay and VV 7200 Northampton plus I believe the remains of the Brentford and Chiswick appliance

Hello fellas, I note the original caption states the extended bonnet for a Meadows engine. This vehicle has always had an AEC DIESEL ENGINE. The reason for the extended "snout" was the engine was the longer 11.3 6 cylinder as fitted to the military Militants.
Sounds like the vehicle is in good hands.

Quite right Mike - thast's exactly why the radiator is thrust forward a little further.
Incidentally, regarding the ex-T&W ET - F843 JBB - I'd forgotten it was yours before Essex got it. I did in fact reply to your last on this, but my message must have got lost in cyberspace.

does any one know where this tl is now?

Added by Adam on 01 June 2012.
So this TL was rebuilt at Wheatley fire station in the late eighties by John Guy, John Bark, Robert Hillsdon, Pete Smith and Nigel Woods and it attended many events in the uk and was used for my wedding shortly afterwards we passed it onto Watlington fire station around 96/7 then I lost track of where it went.
