Hi Ian,
There was a BMC Lorry, it originated with Hartlepool Fire Brigade. It was a former Foam Carrier and became a GPL sometime in the early 70's. I've only ever seen one photograph of it (by Ron Henderson) It was allover red, and didn't have a white front. It probably never had one.
I can't remember it's full registration, except it was FEF---? The vehicle was replaced by a Ford D series GPL (KAJ556M)around 1974/5,which did have a white front and was based at Middlesbrough.

Teesside Fire Brigade had a BMC Austin or Morris FG GPL in the late 1960s, I don't know its origin...possibly Middlebrough FB, that is where it was based in 1967 ish. I did my driving assessment on it.

Gents,

I've just been looking through some Historical records, and can now tell you that the GPL was FEF871F a BMC FGK FoT which originated with with the County Borough of Hartlepool Fire Brigade in 1971. It passed to Cleveland in 1974 as a GPL and lasted till around 1978/9.
