1990 Fire Brigade Society visit to Buckinghamshire where this was on loan. My notes say Volvo marine engine. Rear pump. This is the original Pacesetter chassis from Interfire 75, reworked but never entered service. See Fire Cover 103.

Sorry I misinterpreted my own notes late last night. I should have said was at 1987 fire exhibition and is not the Pacesetter from Interfire '75. Roger Mardon's book has the story.

It ended up in co. Carlow Ireland about 10 years ago.

AS far as I can recall it was sold to an oil refinery on the east coast in circa early nineties.

Yes, it went to Mobil at Coryton. I didn't know it ever went to Ireland. Has anyone got proof of this by waty of an Irish registration please ?
