Our fleet of the eighties. Note the RB44 that we had from new, came with a monitor on the roof controlled from inside ( 5th from left ) and pump mounted on the front.Yes the brakes were useless until upgraded with electronic servo, as good as today's ABS. When the brakes were engaged a big red light appeared on the dashboard. Other vehicles there are Carmichael and Thornicroft Majors.

Last time I was there they were using the end of an aircraft hanger as accommodation for the appliances and a 'Terrapin' portacabin as the station

That is an impressive line-up of now-classic ARFF equipment, for us to see.
'Google' says: BHX Airport is Birmingham International Airport, in the middle of England.
That looks like a modern air-port fire-hall behind the trucks; were they moved because of airport expansion and their quarters taken over ?

Yes under the Expansion scheme in 1983/4 the new fire station was built with single storey bays but double storey around it.It is central to both runways and adjacent taxiway 1.

Nice to see our old Fire Station again. Second and third appliances from right are being rebuilt by two young men who enjoy renovating.
