Fire Engines Photos

Good to see this old 1987 Dennis DS/Carmichael that was at Petworth being preserved Stuart,I saw it last year at the Bentley Fire Show in East Sussex stuck all on its own looking in a terrible state in a corner of a field with a'For Sale'sign on it.Glad to see its been saved.Pete.

Excellent news - i woundered what had become of it. Slight typo above - the registration is D554 DOR. Good Luck sturat and look forward to seeing it in pristine condition again.

No doubt, there will be several responses already; as I am 4 time-zones behind; I am still going to stick my "Two-cents worth" in anyway.....

My guess, on the roof, Andy M.; it is a spot-light(search-light) turned around back-wards and canted down-wards, to minimize the damp entering, and to allow drainage of any, inside.

Over here, also to keep all the splattering insects, from fouling the outer lens cover......

I have seen similar on older Electrical Power Utlity Trucks, and on smaller marine craft.

Great to see this old girl being preserved - good luck with her.

Andy,I used to always want to turn that roof searchlight on to annoy the driver behind who's was driving like a bat out of hell with his headlights full-on to annoy me.I never did though,I just slowed right down to really annoy him.Pete,

You probably wont get Doors now, you might be lucky & get some door skins. It all depends on which doors need doing & how bad they are. What DS do you need the doors for?
