Fire Engines Photos

This is a 1908 Shand Mason Horse-drawn Steam Pump ordered for the protection of St'Giles House and Wimbourne St'Giles village in Dorset,England.It was purchased after the village's manual pump proved to be of no use in 1907 when the village parish church was totally destroyed by fire.It went on to serve the village until 1948,and today is still in preservation.

Jacques - good to see this wonderful old Steamer, out "on the run" - so many that we can only see as dusty exhibits in a museum....

A horse drawn steamer still operational in 1948. Could this be a record, or was it trailored by then!
