Image of the Singapore Central Fire Station

Probably one of the most incredible examples of a Fire Station ever built anywhere in the world, this magnificent structure of 1908 is a focal point for fire engine enthusiasts when they travel to the beautiful Country of Singapore. Saturday morning is open house at every fire station and if you happen to mention you're a 'firie' or lover of fire engines, put aside an extra hour because you will not get out of there in a hurry,,,,

A truly stunning example of a Fire Station. Do you know what appliances are based here ?

Andy, the Central fire station "houses" 3 Pump Ladders Dennis (various series)which one is a spare one. 3 LFAV (Light Fire Attack Vehicles) which 2 of them will go out after 11 am to a Fire Post, a Fire Bike Team (2 bikes) 1 AL, 1 CPL, 1 BAT, 1 DCT, 4 ambulances (which 2 are stationed at a Fire Post) 1 FRP (Fast Response Paramedic) and 1 IV (Inspection Vehicle)

What a huge collection of fire trucks.Do they built additional garage for it?.I like the canvas roof and doorless LFAV.Do you have the info on it?If you have can you sent its technical info to my e-mail.Brunei FRD owns a LFAV which is used by the female firefighter.

Hey just found this site. this place was my first and only posting for the past 7 years. Latest update, out of the four ambulances, only 1 goes out to the post now. one more is a spare on standby. We also now carry the Argo 8x8 Avenger Amphibious Vehicle in the Station primarily for water rescue. The Pump ladders are the Dennis Sabre and Rapier series by the way.

Hi Riduan, so far as I know Singapore never had Dennis Rapiers. So which Fire Post kept the ambulance, Boon Keng?

Added by Fire995 on 25 April 2009.
yup. boon keng. There's 1 Rapier at Central now. I can't recall the exact model but it should be RS235 I think. Where are you from Frank?

Added by Riduan on 26 April 2009.
Riduan, the RS235 isn't a Rapier but I guess it's one of the first batch with the Rosenbauer monitor on it. If not sure send me the numberplate number and I can tell you. I'm from the Netherlands, but I was a NCO in AMK R3 for a couple of years

my bad. it's yj2878y. yup you'rre right about the monitor

Yep, that's PL36 the "boxed" model Dennis, she is from 1994 and used to be PL9 New... to stop the confusing some of the batch were renumbered.
