so what was wrong with the dennises ? apart from the fact that they are built to last, easier to get in and out and look better, oh and they are built in this country perhaps thats the reason?

I believe the arguement is that the Scanias are not only cheaper, but easier to repair/get cheaper spares for. As for reliablity i'm not sure. However - the majority of firefighters would agree that the Dennis's are better; they are after all built for the purpose of being a fire appliance - these scanias are simply chassis cabs.
