1987 Duxford rally. By this time the coach was preserved by New Forest Fire preservation group. PAN 5E is the Commer Walk Thru Wadhams CU then CIU, also preserved at this time. Does anybody remember the two Willowbrook BACVs that London bought and which never entered service because of trade union issues? Willowbrook were a bus maanufacturer of Loughborough.

The Commer appliance is actually PAN6E, not PAN5E.
Does anyone know if PAN5E orPAN4E still exist ?

I do beleave Simon Rowley still has OYT517R even though we on the south coast of England don't see it much these days.

Pan6e would have been owned by my father at the time this photo was taken. It was sold to another member of the east anglia fire preservation group called Vincent fox. I believe he restored pan6e or otherwise known as the pink panther! I also am led to believe it was later sold on- I am currently trying to trace the current owner out of my own interest. Dvla records show it is still about but has been on a sorn declaration since 2010. Any info on it's whereabouts now would be greatly recieved

I believe there were a number of appliances purchased by LFB that have been 'experimental' vehicles. Does anyone have any info about them at all? Was there once a VW intended for shopping precinct or multi storey car parks?

one I recall was the forced entry and lighting vehicle (FELU!) a Bedford CF van. There was MGY1L a first strike appliance, another Bedford CF/HCB-A which you can search on Google. Another was the Ford/Willowbrook Breathing Apparatus Tender BAT subject of correspondence elsewhere on this site. see picture 26093.
