Taken at the opening of the new Rayleigh Weir fire station on 1st December 2009, this is one of the new 'special' appliances recently placed in service by the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

Murray, can you please tell me if Rayleigh and Leigh-on-Sea are now closed?

Murray, looks like i've answered my own question. Went on Essex website soon after and Hadleigh looks like it's gone along with Rayleigh. Makes sense to combine the two after all this time.

Rayleigh is closed. Leigh on Sea is not closing.

Future plans may include a new wholetime stn at Retterdon replacing Baddow and South Wooden Ferrers.
