1974 fire Woolton Road Liverpool 18 - fire was in the roof of monastery church. What is the box on the appliance roof? is it a compressor?

Compare with picture 41086, which has ERF lettering to grille.

The box on the roof of the appliance is a Hi-Ex foam applicator used for when the booms are extended. All Liverpool PHP's were fitted accordingly. Regarding the fire; I have some brief cine film of this incident on video somewhere.
