New Heavy Rescue TruckThe voluntary Fire Brigade of Birsfelden (near Basle, Switzerland) has recently put this new Heavy Rescue Truck into service. Its a Mercedes-Benz Axor 1833 with superstructure of the Swiss factory Tony Brändle AG. In the cab there are seats for a crew of up to 6 firemen. The truck is carrying 6 special containers in the back of the superstructure which can be un-/loaded with a hydraulic platform. These so called modules are loaded with additional equipment for rescue operations such as hydraulic jaws of life and cylinders, breathing apparatus, chain saws and illuminating equipment.
