Austin K4 TL in action
This is GXN 205 1943 Austin TL in action at the 50th anniversary of the opening of Swindon Fire station in Wiltshire in July 2009. Both my father who owns the TL and myself served at Swindon and the station did have an Austin TL on the run when my father joined the birgade however this did not survive into preservation. The Water is being supplied by my 1959 Karrier Gamecock. The Crew was made up Fulltime and retained crews from Swindon in various uniforms that crossed over the years.
I thought it would be good to see two preserved engines showing they could still do the job as intended.

PS At the time, at the time you and your Dad were riding these fire-trucks - did the thought ever occur, that you might actually OWN and operate one of them ?
